Take the attention within; perhaps – if it is safe – close the eyes for a few seconds and breathe consciously. By that I mean be conscious of the air; as you breathe in and out, be aware of the warmth, the life force – prana, the temperature, fragrances or smells; be aware of the used air leaving your system as you breathe out.
Notice what parts of your lungs are doing the breathing. Is it the upper lungs, or are you breathing deeply into the diaphragm?
To take a Full Yogic Breath is to breathe into the lower abdomen first: the diaphragm is moving downwards into the abdomen, drawing air into the lowest part of the lungs. Then fill the upper lungs: the ribcage expands and pulls air into the middle part of the lungs. Finally, feel the air fill the upper chest.
Exhale, from the abdomen first, then the ribcage and finally the chest; repeat a few times until this type of breathing feels comfortable and natural. Both the in-breath and the out-breath are through the nose.
Then move your attention to your face muscles; looking from the inside, consciously place a gentle smile on your face. Feel the energy expand out into the aura, so you feel whole and at one with yourself.
Send yourself loving thoughts that help to relax you and make you feel good about your Self.
If you become aware of any tension, relax consciously into it; feel it release, feel your flesh and muscles relax and become whole. You may even feel the body’s spiritual energy, or the magnetic energy of the aura, creating the field which allows you to be whole and one with the underlying Universal Life Force.
Become aware of the silence inside; feel the liveliness in the silence – it is almost a feeling of angels’ wings fluttering as each atom of your being vibrates with Love and Joy.
Send a few loving thoughts to your internal systems, thanking and praising all the parts of your body for being alive and feeling good about themselves.
Notice your energy field feeling itself charge up from this self Love and appreciation. Then open your eyes again and notice how your perspective on the world has changed.
When you are feeling good and full of energy, the whole world appears brighter and you feel you can achieve anything because, in a way, you are choosing to create your reality consciously with loving, positive thoughts and by feeling good and emotionally happy with your Self.
