Sweating is often looked at as something bad, and therefore we try to eliminate the amount of sweat that comes out of our bodies. But did you know that sweating is actually good for you? It can help to protect you against diseases by getting rid of toxins in your body. According to studies toxins are the number one cause of disease and aging.
Here are some of the benefits that you can obtain just by sweating:
Reduced Body Odor. Popular belief has it that sweat causes body odor. But it is not the sweat, but rather the toxins that the sweat brings out of your body which cause the odor. Therefore your odor will increase when you sweat, but then as the toxins are being eliminated, the odor will gradually decrease.
Reduces Black Heads and Acne. Sweat is the water that circulates through your body to wash it out. As it is eliminated from the body it cleans and opens up the pores to reduce acne and black heads.
Controls Body Temperature. Sweat is essential for keeping you cool on a hot summer day to prevent heat stroke. It also cools you when you are exercising.
Fights off Infections. Researchers have found that sweat can help to fight off infections, as it can kill and destroy harmful bacteria which may come in contact with your skin.
Fights the Common Cold. Next time you feel a cold coming on, take a hot bath to help your body to sweat the cold out before it takes control of your body. After the bath, just relax for about an hour or so, and your fatigue and other symptoms will vanish or at least be reduced.
Fight Diseases. Most diseases such as cancer, fibromyalgia and obesity are caused by too many toxins in the body. Sweating helps to eliminate these toxins so that you can overcome and prevent these diseases.
How To Promote Sweating
You should never try to stop your body from sweating, but rather you should encourage it to sweat whenever you can.
Sauna or Hot Bath. One of the best way that you can promote your body to break a sweat is by using a sauna or a hot bath.
Exercise. 30 minutes of cardio exercise also helps your body to break into a good sweat.
Sunshine. If you don’t have the energy for exercise go and lay out in the sunshine. You can stay out there as long as you want, but just cover your body from head to toe with a blanket. As the sun shines on you, it will help you to break into a nice sweat without you getting burned.
